Gromphadorhina portentosa just rolls right off your tongue. And these animals will just roll right into your heart. My love of these air-expelling animals started when I purchased two in my first year teaching. They seemed like monsters to the unknowing person. But once you hold one, those fears disappear. In your hands, you have a fragile being; and for a moment you are its protector. In 2019, I purchased 16 hissers and now I have over 100 of them.
