Who Am I?

Born and raised in New York City, I attended PS 236 Langston Hughes School, Christ the King, and Cardinal Hayes High School. After high school, I attended Lehman College on a full scholarship through the Teacher Academy Program through the generous work from the Petri Foundation. As a result, I am a native New Yorker poised to help all who seek my expertise.

I hold a B.A. and M.A. in Biology from Lehman College, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, Portland, and a Doctor of Education from Concordia University, St. Paul.

I currently teach middle-school science at The Chapel School; I also teach in the graduate program of the education department at Concordia College-NY.

As a doctoral student, my writing skills have helped and allowed me to become a successful candidate for the final phases of the program. In addition, my virtual residency required that I maintain open communication that was critiqued and refined daily.

As a native Spanish speaker and Volunteer Duolingo Global Ambassador, I have first-hand experience reading, writing, and conversing in Spanish. As a result, I can help all learners improve their Spanish skills to reach and realize their goals. I can also speak Italian and French at an elementary level. With these language skills, I love to travel and immerse myself in various cultures. I also enjoy playing the piano, biking, swimming, and traveling, along with my passion for teaching science and math. I have recently taken up archery to widen some of my hobbies.

Music, in general, has been a skill that my parents cultivated. As a student at Cardinal Hayes and at the Bloomingdale School of Music on the Upper West Side, I refined my music theory, music composition, and piano performance skills.

With many years of teaching and tutoring science, technology, and math, I am equipped with the skills to help all of my students reach their full potential.
